Hi! I’m Kory Tran. I’m a UX writer and designer with a background in journalism and creative writing currently living in Silicon Valley.
I studied journalism at San Francisco State University and did the international program at the Danish School of Journalism and Media in Aarhus. After graduation, I worked as a reporter and editor, where I specialized in writing profiles about every day and extraordinary people.
During the pandemic, I realized I wanted to transition to a new career, using my experience conducting interviews and research to see the many ways we can resonate with people, this time through UX design. I am excited to enter a new field that lets me apply my creativity and empathy in shaping meaningful product experiences for people.
More about my background: My written work has appeared in varied publications such as the San Jose Mercury News and the American Drivel Review. In my spare time I enjoy doing krav maga and participating in Toastmasters, where I’ve competed in humorous speech contests.
